So here are some pictures of our new space, at least the downstairs half. It's a bit messy but you know..life:)
View of the front of the house from across the street
The living room looking toward the front yard
The living room looking toward the back of the house, that's the sun room door at the end
The dining room, that window looks out at our drive way and to the left leads to the kitchen
The dining room looking out to the front yard
The kitchen looking to the living room, that "window" to the left of the stove looks out to the sun room
The kitchen looking toward the door that goes out to our drive way
The sun room,it has a door that goes right out into the back yard
My view out the kitchen window over the sink
Our back yard
So that was a pretty good peek I think.

Our "Down Bathroom"
So this is our "down bathroom" right now.
I am not surprised, per se, just kind of waiting for the other shoe to drop. It was a simple repair at first, just a new wax ring on the toilet base, but it may be mushrooming into something... well... more than expected. We'll just have to wait and see what comes out. One of the perils of homeownership. Kind of minor, to be honest, as these things go.
While I dealt with this, the kids and Momma enjoyed one of the joys of homeownership. They convinced me to join after I realized I should just let the plumber handle it. Frisbee was a really nice break.

The Lake
Yesterday we took a break from from unpacking and housework and headed off to Lake Ontario. Ari and Elsu battled the waves, found treasures and went for a long explore down the beach with my mom.Beren dipped his toes in and tried to eat as many rocks as he could find. A perfectly lovely afternoon...I foresee many more in our future.
...House pictures coming soon

Settling In
We are slowly settling in to our new(First!)house. It is a strange mix of being oh so busy and excited by all the possibilities in front of us and missing our old home and friends so much. It's helping tremendously that my mom came out here with us and is staying for a week...I'm not quite sure how we could be doing this without her(Thanks Mom!). I'll be back soon with pictures.

Saying goodbye to Thacher
Yesterday, sadly, was the last day many New York State parks remained open. It's myopic to close them to save a little cash. This fact lent a bittersweet feeling to the visit (at least for me). The kids, however, just enjoyed the day wandering in their 'streamwalkers'. Beautiful day.

Life by the lakeside
This is a present, albeit a sort of cheesy one, for my wonderful wife Caitlin, on this wondrous day, Mother's Day 2010.
I hope that this blog will provide a route by which our friends and loved ones can keep touch with us as we relocate our family. I know email, phone, texting, instant messaging, and the like allow us all to keep tabs on our loved ones in ways we probably could never have dreamed of in our parent's generation, but blogs just seem so... I don't know. Perfect. It's exactly what we want to show you, is what I mean. Ha!
Welcome to life by the lakeside.
